FBC Corsicana pastor dies following a car accident

This space will return to updates from the Philippines, but this weekend a tragic event took place. On Friday, David Edwards, the 51-year-old pastor of First Baptist Church in Corsicana, died from injuries suffered in a car accident.

David was a member of Texas Baptists’ Executive Board and had a heart for sharing the hope of Christ, especially for those who were facing difficult circumstances.

He is missed. Please pray for the church, his wife, his children and the rest of his family. Undoubtedly, all are hurting.

Driving a car is such a serious responsibility. I can’t believe it when people assume they can safely drive a car while sleepy, drunk, or on a phone. A Dallas attorney, Amy Witherite, has researched and posted very informative articles which I have appreciated when wanting to be informed about driving dangers, responsibilities, and recovery. There are many programs out there that educate drivers on precautions that should be taken, dangers to be prepared for, and training to be better equipped. Its always great seeing people behaving responsibly and preparing themselves and others to face the necessary dangers of driving.
