Lottie Moon Christmas Offering short, but Baptists still committed to missions

by

A June 4 story on Baptist Press reports that the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering of $141 Million is about $30 million short of it’s goal.

Just thought that you’d like information on the amount of money that Texas Baptists give to Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. The IMB & SBC use different measurement dates than we do so below are the numbers from the IMB May 31 report.  What it shows for Lottie Moon is:

2008/2009   10,376,839.21

2007/2008   10,818,217.39

This represents a 4% drop.

For calendar years, which is how we measure giving, Texas Baptists churches gave $12,241,950 in 2008 and;
$12,278,145 in 2007 through the BGCT.

    I made a public pledge of the profits for my boutique, Blair House, in Nov and Dec to be donated to Lottie Moon. Please keep me informed.
