Riding the waves of hope

The heart of Texas Hope 2010 is sharing the gospel with every person in the state. One of the ways Texas Baptists are seeking to do that is by placing Scripture in every home. Primera Iglesia Bautista in San Diego is trying to do that quickly.

The congregation recently was given a low-powered FM transmitter and has started its own Christian radio station that broadcasts 24 hours a day. It broadcasts “Coffee with the Pastor” and the Sunday services live each week. Pastor Juan Rodriguez explains the church’s rationale for the radio station, which already is gaining local popularity:

“If we’re talking about taking the word of God to every home, it’s going to take some time to go door-by-door. We thought, why don’t we just send it?”

The church plans on partnering the radio broadcasts with door-to-door evangelism efforts. Partnering the initiatives, the congregation believes it can share the hope of Christ with everyone in San Diego.
