Praying, caring and sharing

by

Two nights ago, the high school in Lockney burned down, devastating the town. First responders worked all night and into the morning to put the fire out. The next morning, Texas Baptists were there providing meals for the first responders as well as the school’s faculty and staff. DOM Gene Meacham of the Caprock Plains Baptist Area and BGCT Church Starter John Silva also were able to pray with the faculty and staff there and share the hope of Christ. First Baptist Church in Lockney will continue caring for the community as it will be the temporary home for classes.

“It gave us an opportunity to pray, care and share in a community that suffered loss,” said John Silva.
