Reba Gram, who works in our chaplaincy office, posted this to our internal announcements. If you can help with this request, please contact Reba at Reba.Gram@bgct.org.
We have received a request from one of our chaplains, now deployed to Afghanistan, asking for guitars for soldiers.
When I first read what he is praying for I had to sit back and think about it. It could be a very relaxing activity for a soldier. I remember when I was growing up my daddy would sit for an hour or so at a time and pick his guitar. I can see how the downtime soldiers have could be enhanced by a guitar.
If you happen to have a guitar (and hopefully a case) which you are considering getting rid of, will you please consider giving it to us for this chaplain? He is hoping to receive up to 4.
We aren’t talking about electric guitars and the amp but a “standard”.
I am so proud of the way our chaplains come up with ideas to reach their soldiers!
