Gifts for the troops

by

clip_image002A few months ago, we shared the story of a BGCT-endorsed chaplain serving in Afghanistan who was offering free greeting cards and movie and book rentals to troops as an avenue to better connect with them. At the time, Chaplain Zachary was hoping to expand his collection of books and movies that help keep the spirits of the troops up.

He’s already received several shipments from Texas Baptists, and he recently received a significant Thanksgiving present from the WMU in the Saline Baptist Association– boxes and boxes of items for the troops he serves.

The boxes included hand-made helmet liners to help keep the troops’ heads warm. One woman, Theodora Mizo, made 183 helmet liners by herself.

Thank you for your service and encouragement to Chap. Zachary and the troops overseas.

If you’d like more information about how to send items to Chap. Zachary, please call 888-244-9400.
