Hunting for the hungry

It’s deer season, which is great news for hunters and Good Samaritan Ministries in Brownwood. The outreach, which is partially supported by the Texas Baptist Offering for World Hunger, began an effort this year that allows hunters to give deer meat to the ministry.

Since Nov. 1, hunters have donated 1,600 pounds of deer meat to the ministry. Outreach leaders expect as much as 20,000 pounds of meat to be donated, which would be enough to feed 650 families for seven months.

That’s a lot of food. And a lot of opportunities to share the hope of Christ.

One Response to “Hunting for the hungry”

  1. Tim Dahl Says:

Brownwood has a lot of great thing going for it. It has FBC, which is a great church. It has HPU, which has to be the greatest school…period! And of course, as you already noted; it has the Good Samaritan Ministries.

Brownwood is just a great kind of place to be! 😉

Not that I’m biased or anything…
