The launch of Texas Hope 2010 in El Paso is underway! There are about six events going on across the city right now. We hope to give you glimpses into each of them.
This morning I had the opportunity to spend a bit of time with Leo Samaniego from Lakeside Baptist Church. Any time with him is special. He has such a calm, caring spirit that people can’t help but want to be around him. This morning Lakeside members were giving food and blankets to about 60 families in three mobile home parks. The only thing that matched the warmth in the blankets was the warmth in Leo’s spirit.
He naturally connects with people and barriers drop. A relationship starts almost instantaneously. He gets to know you, your spouse, your family, friends and relatives. When you’re with him, you’re the most important person in the world to him.
Here’s how Leo defines hope: “Hope means that there’s something that is coming that is going to be a blessing.”
“We’re bringing hope to the people,” he added.
Well said, Leo. You definitely are bringing hope everywhere you go.
