El Paso Baptist Association has gotten into this week’s Rio de Esperanza emphasis in a big way. I was able to attend a “block party” at Paul Harvey Park in northwest El Paso. I’m not sure how many peope were there, but it was quite a crowd.
Mission el Sembrador, a mission congregation in the area led by Pastor Jesus Medina, was in the middle of much of what was going on. Iglesia Evangelica Rey de Reyes also had a big role. And from out of town, Bacon Heights Baptist Church in Lubbock brought chairs for the event and left them for use by churches in El Paso.
The block party included music, drama, food, face painting and New Testament giveaways.
