When the town of Trinity lost power in the wake of the hurricane, those stores began donating some of their food to Burning Hope Bapitst Church. To those who a lot is given, God expects a lot. And the church has held up its end of the deal.
The congregation has been serving 300-500 hot meals a week. They’ve served sausage, brisket, pizza and even steaks. They’re providing meals to people in the community, to service people and meals on wheels.
After talking to Rhonda Chapman at the church, I think they’re having fun doing it. They’re providing hope through their meals and they’re good spirits in trying times.
“It’s been quite a blessing to help this many people,” said Rhonda Chapman, who works at Burning Hope Baptist Church.
Many thanks to BGCT staff members Danny and David, who are making their way through Southeast Texas checking on congregations.
