Missions Foundation serves homeless

Monday, the Texas Baptist Missions Foundation staff volunteered at “The Bridge,” a new homeless shelter in downtown Dallas. “In an hour and a half, we served 784 homeless people who daily face the triple-digit heat,” said TBMF’s Stephanie Orr.

The Bridge is just one of many homeless shelters and soup kitchens in the state. “The Missions Foundation has committed to serving meals twice a month as part of the Hope 2010 efforts, but the homeless shelters need help three times a day, 365 days a year,” Stephanie said.

She’s encouraging others to think of how they or their churches can be a part of something like this.
