334 students set to share the hope of Christ around the globe

About a week ago, a large group of college students were commissioned to serve as student missionaries through Go Now Missions, the student missions arm of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. In 2008, student missionaries will serve in 32 countries and 17 states through Go Now.

Each year during orientation, students are excited to take advantage of the opportunity to share the hope of Christ with others. Their enthusiasm is infectious. In that vein and in the spirit of Texas Hope 2010, here’s what a couple student missionaries said about hope and a need to share the gospel:

    Shortly after posting this, Brenda sent over some numbers that give an idea of what kind of impact student missionaries have each year. This is simply amazing.

    From 2007:

    Individual Salvations in which the student missionary led the person to the Lord: 269

    Number of Rededications in which the student missionary was the person counseling the one making the decision: 36

    Number of other spiritual decisions in which the student missionary was the person counseling the one making the decision: 82

    Number of spiritual conversations/gospel presentations made by student missionaries: 1,865
