BGCT Spanish web site

Fabian Ramirez came to the BGCT team as the Web Store Specialist/Spanish Web Specialist in the fall. Last week he launched the BGCT Spanish web site, I asked him to share a few thoughts about this web site.

As the number of Hispanic churches in Texas keep growing, so does the need for Spanish resources. The launch of the Spanish BGCT web site will help to provide Spanish speaking pastors and members with information in their native language. The BGCT is proud to announce the web site as its newest way of relaying information to Hispanic pastors. We hope that the Spanish site can also serve as a ministry tool for Hispanic churches across our state and beyond. – Fabian

    Dear Friends,

A very exciting Christian-based conference will happen this fall (Sept 24-27) targeting church leaders, agency providers, and those who want to learn more how to serve the “excluded” or underserved. It will include workshops about mental illness, addiction, dealing with at-risk children and youth, the deaf, and the “morally challenged.” I have attached basic information so you can spread the word. A brochure and registration details will be coming soon! (And the cost is very reasonable!)

Dr. Ray Rivera, executive director of LPAC (Latino Pastoral Action Center) in New York City is our plenary speaker for the Thursday night banquet (9/24). He will also lead a couple of workshops and preach at Church Under the Bridge on that Sunday. While there will be many general workshops, we are also offering several directed to Hispanic culture and Spanish language folks.

Hope you will save these dates and pass the word!

    Jimmy Dorrell
    Executive Dir
