CityChurch pastor named Amarillo man of the year

Don Lane, pastor of CityChurch in Amarillo, has been named the city’s man of year for 2007. The congregation is known throughout the state for its outreach to those in need, especially children. The entire Lane family is a testimony to how God uses people to accomplish His purposes.

I thought these paragraphs summed up Lanes’ ministry well. Powerful words from their friends.

Michael Pinkston, executive pastor of The Church at Quail Creek, has known Lane since Citychurch opened. He knows Lane through ministry, through Lane’s grandchildren and through friends.

“Don Lane is one of the most important leaders in our city, and there is no way to calculate the physical and spiritual needs that have been met by his driving passion to serve Jesus by serving others,” Pinkston said. “If you love the needy, the lost and the forgotten, those who other people drive by and don’t notice, you gotta love the Lanes.”
