Some good news

ConclaveAfter a series of posts about some difficult topics, I think it’s time we focus on some good news.

Youth Ministry Conclave, which took place Monday-Wednesday, was amazing. It may have been the strongest Conclave program since I’ve been part of the convention’s staff, and about 100 more youth ministry leaders turned out for it this year compared to last.

Ralph West, pastor of The Church Without Walls in Houston, kicked the event off with a bang with the passionate preaching he teaches at Truett. David Platt, pastor of The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Ala., followed him with a simple but powerful presentation that provided a glimpse into Christianity around the world.

The Skit Guys brought their unique brand of worship and Afshin Ziafat truly connected with conference participants. In between, youth ministry leaders attended training seminars and networked with each other.

It was a truly meaningful time of prayer, reflection study and fellowship for youth ministry leaders. Check a handful of photos from Conclave here or via slideshow here.
