I just received this from Fred Ater. This would seem to be helpful information for people seeking to help hurricane evacuees in San Antonio.
| 09/18/2008 - Currently, the most important things needed are funds. The BGCT Disaster Response Fund is very low! You can donate three ways.
1. Online Donation: Please go to www.bgct.org/disaster, click “Click here to give to BGCT Disaster Response,” fill out the needed items and donate by credit card. (This is a secure site.) 2. Check Donation: Please send your check payable to the Baptist General Convention of Texas, designate “Disaster Response” and mail to: Baptist General Convention of Texas 3. Offering Donation: Please designate your offering through your church. Your church can send your offering to “Disaster Response” through its BGCT Cooperative Program contributions. |

Requests and Church-to-Church Partnering Disaster Response requests are beginning to trickle into the BGCT. A posting of requests will be online ASAP. You will receive a notice of its posting. Please prepare your church to be willing to partner with a sister church in the affected area. Partnering could mean anything from reconstruction help or salary supplement for the church staff. |
