Beach Reach 2007 officially wrapped up early this morning with the last van ride. Conversations took take place, people came to know Christ, and Texas Baptist college students celebrated the growth of God’s kingdom.
I’ve was struck by the camaraderie among the Beach Reachers. They came from across Texas and beyond, but they ministered together like they’re old friends. This week-long effort has brought them together in a special way. Last night’s service was filled with hugs and prayers. Many of the students already have traded facebook information and undoubtedly will stay in contact with each other. Some of them will probably see each other soon for student missions orientation.
So I leave South Padre Island with a couple Beach Reachers sharing their heart via video. Visit the BGCT web site early next week for more traditional and detailed news coverage.
I want to say a special thanks to Buddy, Zach, Mollie, Ify, Andrew and all the other Beach Reachers who showed me around and were nice enough to spend some time on camera for me. You are the future of Baptist life in this state. And that means the future is bright. God bless you.
And thank each of you who have been reading this blog during the past few days and praying for Beach Reach. The prayers made a difference.
